Basic Life Support
Basic Life Support
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, or CPR is a vital life-saving technique that helps restore breathing and circulation when someone’s heart stops. Through chest compressions and rescue breaths, it keeps blood and oxygen flowing until medical help arrives, often making the difference between life and death in emergencies like heart attacks, drowning or sudden collapse.
Coordination
In La Trinidad, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), in coordination with the Department of Health – Cordillera (DOH–Cordillera), provides CPR training to barangay officials, youth volunteers, and members of the community. Participants learn how to properly perform CPR and respond quickly during emergencies.
Basic Life Support – Training for Trainers
La Trinidad MDRRMO, in collaboration with DOH–Cordillera, offers Basic Life Support (BLS) – Training of Trainers (TOT) to enhance life-saving education. This program equips select individuals with both BLS skills and teaching techniques, enabling them to train others. By producing certified trainers, the initiative promotes widespread CPR knowledge and fosters a more sustainable and resilient emergency response system.
Empower
Learning CPR empowers individuals to act with confidence and care when every second counts. Through these training efforts, La Trinidad is building a community that is more prepared, more responsive, and more capable of saving lives.
Enhancing Awareness, Building Capacity, Promoting Preparedness
The municipality aligns its disaster risk reduction and management efforts with Republic Act No. 10121, which highlights the importance of awareness, capacity-building, and preparedness through trainings to strengthen community resilience.
